Linda Brown-Goines Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Chapel - Fort Smith on Jan. 9, 2026.
Linda Gayle Brown-Goines, age 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Pocola Health and Rehabilitation in Pocola, Oklahoma. She was born on August 30, 1957, and was a beloved daughter of James N. Brown and Mary Evelyn (Morris) Brown-Jones.

Linda was a devoted woman of the Pentecostal faith whose love for her church family ran deep. She faithfully attended The Well Church in Pocola for many years, where she found joy, fellowship, and spiritual strength. Linda cherished time spent on "girls' nights out," whether that meant enjoying a good meal, catching a movie, or visiting the casino. Known for her loving heart, caring spirit, and charismatic personality, she was always willing to lend a helping hand and often went out of her way to support others. Though she could be blunt at times, her honesty came from a place of love, and she was dearly loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by her three children, Krissee Marx and husband Bruce, James Brown, and Matthew Brown; four grandchildren, Maurianna Marx and fiancé Adrian, Michael Marx, Christian Wallis, and Bailey Brown and fiancé Miguel; two brothers, Earl Brown and Tom Brown and wife Diane; one sister, Lela Tucker; her aunt, Bertha Thomas and husband John; her uncle, Anthony Wayne Morris; and her sisters-in-law, Eva Cooper and husband Richard, Gladys Waddles and her late husband Harvey, Velma Nichols and husband Phil, Vicky Brown, Thelma Harris and her late husband Terry; Francis Skelton and husband Brian; Lisa Clough and her late husband John; along with all of their children.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Brown-Jones; her stepfather, Johnny Jones; her father, James Brown; her beloved husband, Freddy Andrew Goines; her son, Daniel Brown; one brother, Jim Brown; her sisters, Leta Faye and Letha Kaye; her brother-in-law, George Tucker; her sister-in-law, Barbara Brown; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at The Well Church in Pocola, Oklahoma, with Pastors Doug and Reta officiating. An intimate burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola. Cremation is under the thoughtful direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
