Just heard of Captain Linda Buczek's passing. I had the honor of working for Captain Linda. She was a very good police officer and I truly enjoyed working for her in the 2nd District before I left NOPD to go to Bossier City Police. My condolences to all of her loved ones and may she rest in peace...

Captain Buczek was a wonderful person and commander. Whenever I had a conversation with her, I always walked away feeling positive. I was saddened to hear of her passing.

Linda and I became fast friends through Tai Chi - a pursuit we marvelled at, drew energy from, and thoroughly enjoyed in shared classes, excursions, and endless conversations. Her groundedness and generosity of heart benefited everyone who met her. I miss her terribly. Deepest condolences to her loving family.

This is certainly sad news. She was an incredible officer who was a little early in the process for women to be accepted as chiefs. She would have made an incredible Chief of Police at NOPD. And a positive influence on policing for years to come. Many blessing to her family and friends. So unfair.

She was a professional law enforcement officer. She had a positive effect on many of her co-workers, including me. RIP, Captain Buczek.

Captain Buczek was my supervisor during my time in both the Second and Third Districts of the N.O.P.D. It was both an honor and pleasure to know Linda and work for her. I know her memory will be a blessing to those who knew her and worked with her.
