Linda Cottrell-Freda, 66, of Pittsgrove Twp. passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with lung and colon cancer.
Born in Elmer to the late Joe Smith and Elmeda Raines Smith, she had been the wife of Timothy R. Freda and the late Vernon Cottrell. She had been a Pittsgrove Twp. resident all of her life. She was a member of the Elks Lodge in Clayton for several years. Linda was a proud leader in the business community, having run multiple family businesses over several decades. She was more recently the owner and operator of her septic company, Able Septic Service in Pittsgrove Twp. She earned accolades including "Trademark Women of Distinction" Honors and was named the National Association of Professional Women's "Woman of the Year."
In her free time, she enjoyed traveling to casinos across the United States with her husband, Timothy, and riding on their motorcycle. She enjoyed singing, often making up her own songs about anything and everything. Linda will be remembered for her sense of humor and her kind, generous soul. She would help anyone in need, often putting others before herself.
She is survived by; her husband, Timothy R. Freda; her children, Nicole Peachey (Greg) and Cristi Cottrell (Jim); step-children, Timothy Freda (Renee) and Jaclyn Reed (Chris); her sister, Donna Jane Smith-Beckett; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Boo Boo.
