Linda Carter Courson, age 76, of Baxley, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at Memorial Health.

Mrs. Courson was born February 7, 1949, in Bacon County to the late Woodrow Carter and the late Fannie Juanita Wilson Carter. She retired from the Huddle House and loved sewing and spending time at the beach. She also enjoyed motorcycle rides with her late husband, John, and had a variety of interests—most especially enjoying culinary delights, never passing up a bit of cheese, and relaxing with a wide range of television programs. One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Carson John Courson, Jr.; her son, Scott Courson; brother, Johnny Carter; sisters-in-law, Anne Carter and Cheryl Rexroat; and brothers-in-law, Timothy Courson and Stephen Courson.

Survivors include her daughter, Becky Courson Lord of Baxley; brother, Robert “Buddy” Carter of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Katherine “Katy” Lord (Patrick) Lewis, Matthew Blake (Pablena) Lord, Jessica Juanita Lord, John Cody Fennell, and Dustin Scott Courson; great-grandchildren, Jaydin Cean Lewis, Landen Scott Lamb, Brayden Ryker Ashmore, Pixie Rain Harmon, Nova Sky Lord, Ernest Andrews, Ja'Nyssa Andrews, Asia Andrews, Olivia Andrews, Anthony Williams, Riley Fennell, and Rhea Fennell; sisters-in-law, Suzanne Courson of Baxley and Lynn (David) Lowe of Hendersonville, TN; a special niece, Shyann Courson; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment will be at a later date.

Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
