Linda Joyce Bobo Davis peacefully entered her eternal rest on October 28, 2023, surrounded by family who loved her dearly.
Linda was born in the Holly Leaf community on June 15, 1942, the first child of Robert Perry and Ollie Marie Hall Bobo. She lived most of her life in the Goodluck community, graduating from Rutherford High School in May of 1960, and marrying her lifelong sweetheart and friend, Gerald Douglas Davis on June 9, 1961, at Antioch Methodist Church. She loved this church her entire life, ever serving and growing in faith. Linda dedicated her life to being a faithful, supportive wife; loving and present mother to Scarlett, Sherry, and Doug; caring Nana for ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; as well as being a dedicated friend to all who came into her life. It was always important to her to make a difference in whatever place or position she found herself. She served as girl scout leader, member of the Rutherford PTA, charter member of The Rutherford Jaycettes, Young Farmers and Homemakers, as well as the Gibson County and Tennessee Farm Bureau, being the first woman elected to serve on the state board of directors. Linda held a very special place in her heart and spent many years of service in the Farm Bureau Ag in The Classroom project.
Certainly, her greatest joy was spending time with her LORD and family, all while seeking to make every situation better than she found it. She was a true friend, and inspiration, and someone who encouraged and brought joy to many. She was a beautiful example of a servant of the LORD. She will be greatly missed; until we meet again.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ollie Bobo.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gerald Davis; daughters, Scarlett Smith (Kenny), Sherry Petty (Jeff); son, Doug Davis (Brandi); grandchildren, Ashley Green (Sam), Andrea Sherman (Paul), Kyle Petty (Stephanie), Justin Petty (Alisha), Jonathan Petty (Whitney), Will Petty, Chris Petty, Gracie Petty, Jake Davis (Kaileigh), and Keeley Bagley (Adam); great-grandchildren, Bo Green, Jase Green, McKenzie Sherman, Molly Sherman, Adam Mays, Dallas Sherman, Audrey Sherman, Mallory Kate Petty, Ava Claire Petty, Cannon Petty, Waylon Petty, Elora Petty, Kenlee Kay Petty, Jon Raylon Petty, Lynnlee Davis, Laikyn Davis, and Scarlett Bagley; and siblings, Robert Thomas 'Tommy' Bobo (Martha), Carol Lascola (Dennis), and David Bobo (Shelia).
