Frank Derby Obituary
Mr. Frank Robert Derby, age 71, of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt. Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 1:30 PM at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads.
Born on March 31, 1954, in Jackson, Michigan, Mr. Derby was the son of the late Bernard and Joyce Porter Derby. He retired as a self-employed carpenter and contractor and was a member of the Baptist faith. He had a wonderful singing voice and played guitar and sang in a western swing band. Mr. Derby honorably served in the United States Navy, with military honors to be observed during the service.
He is survived by his wife, Cherilyn Derby; his son, Robert N. Derby; his sister, Cindy Bochy; and three nieces: Amy Thompson, Audrey Hobson, and Bridey Whitaker. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Phillip Ward, and his sister Cheryl Whitaker.
