Mr. Larry Wendell King, age 90 of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Bells Nursing Home and Rehab. Funeral services for Mr. King will be conducted on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Rutherford with Bro. Phil Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery.
He was born February 5, 1935 in Gibson County, TN; the son of the late David and Lou Ozella Garner King. He served his country with the US Navy from June 1953, until he retired in July 1973. Military honors will be observed. After his retirement from the Navy, Mr. King was an electronics technician for Consolidated Aluminum.
He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Alice King; three children, Cheryl Hamilton (Kevin), Larry Stephen King (Eileen), and Jonathan Duane King (Holly); one sister Dorothy Clark; one brother, Billy Joe King; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Grace Eakes, Clarice Warren, and Laverda Crouse, and brothers Emerson King, Wayne King, Cecil King, Robert King, and Ralph King.
His beloved grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 10AM – 12PM on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Larry Wendell King.
