Linda Dean Obituary

Linda Dean

Formerly Sioux City

Linda Dean, 83, formerly of Sioux City passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Wayne Countryview Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City with Rev. Jill Clem officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be at a later date.

Mary "Linda," the daughter of Clarence and Ruth (Fields) Miller, was born Sept. 27, 1939, in Riverside, Calif. Linda spent her early years in Omaha, Neb., before moving to Sioux City and graduated from East High School.

On June 15, 1958, Linda was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Dean in Sioux City. They lived in Iowa City from 1958 thru 1961. After Bob graduated from pharmacy school, they made their home and raised their family in Sioux City. Linda worked at Corbett Law Firm as a Legal Secretary for many years.

Linda was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church since 1964. She loved volunteering at Grace United Methodist Church whether in the office or helping in the kitchen and attending Bible studies and circles. Linda loved the Iowa Hawkeyes and enjoyed summers at Okoboji and golfing at Indian Hills Golf course. She also loved family ski vacations in Colorado, playing bridge, mall walking and her many friendships.

She loved her family and was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Linda loved to attend her grandchildren's activities, especially football games, baseball games and music concerts. She always made sure to have their favorite cookies on hand when they would come for a visit.

Linda is survived by her loving children Susan Boeshart (Frank) of Apple Valley, Minn., and Paul Dean (Lori) of Wayne, Neb.; grandchildren Chris Dean (Chia), Eric (Ashlie) and Kate Boeshart, and Justin (Morgan) and Jase Dean; three great-grandchildren; brother, Kack Miller (Gloria) of Blue Springs, Mo.; niece Andrea; and nephew Ryan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Dean; parents, Clarence and Ruth Miller; son, David; and granddaughter, Amy Dean.

Memorial contributions will be designated by family at a later date or upon your choice.

Linda was a kind woman. I not only graduated high school with Dave, but worked with Linda at a friends store while I was in college. She and her husband sponsored my husbands softball team( Dean Drug) while Bob coached and we had such a wonderful time. Thoughts and prayers to you all! Gina Bryan Grimsley
