Linda Lou Edwards was born at her grandmother's home in Romney, West Virginia on Thanksgiving day, November 27,1947 to her parents Richard and Evelyn Wolfe. Linda resided in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and went to her eternal home with Jesus on Friday, March 14, 2025 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Linda is preceded in death by her father Richard Wolfe, mother Evelyn Wolfe, and brother-in-law Timothy Flook. She is survived by her husband of 58 years David Edwards, daughter Christina Stilley (Steven), granddaughter Elizabeth Stilley, grandson Caleb Stilley (Natalie), grandson Samuel Stilley (MacKenzie) and sisters Diana Flook, Sheila Ruth (Bill), Sarah Milton (Jeff).
Linda worked in Federal Service for 35 years, starting with the Department of the Air Force and then 32 years with the Social Security Administration, retiring as a Technical Expert in 2006. The joy of Linda's life was her family and her faith and she served and loved deeply. Linda adored her grandchildren and spent time, hiking, crafting, watching movies and playing together. She was also involved in a ministry at The Chapel in Akron, for and with women, called WOW (Women for Oppressed Women) which encourages women by equipping them to imitate Christ and empowering them to be missional. Linda's heart was always for people, she was generous with her time, kind with her words and compassionate with her actions. She loved to walk around Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Palm Harbor, FL with her husband David, where they frequented many regular spots. She and David began the Fall Metro Park Fall Hiking Spree in 2000 and had 23 badges on their hiking staves. Last year as Linda was not able to participate, her granddaughter Beth completed the Hiking Spree with family and friends in honor of her Grandma E. Linda enjoyed reading, hiking, crafting, knitting and crocheting. She took her love of crafts, knitting and people wherever she went. Linda led and participated regularly with the Knitting Knights in Fairlawn, OH and another group in Palm Harbor, FL. Both groups provided blankets, hats and scarves to women and children with limited resources within their communities
Linda will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 19 at The Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, OH 44304 at 11:00 AM. Calling hours will be held for one hour prior to the service. Private internment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Linda has requested donations be made in her memory to the Camp Carl scholarship fund at https://www.campcarl.life/support-us/donate#donate-form.
