Linda Mae Carter Eugene was born on July 15, 1944, to the union of the late Joe Nathan and Eula Mae Johnson Carter in New Orleans, LA. She departed this life on Monday, January 23, 2023, at the age of 78 peacefully at home with her sons Ledet and Nathan. She was baptized at an early age at Loving Four Baptist Church of New Orleans, LA. She was educated in the Orleans Parish School System and graduated from Booker T. Washington Senior High School (Class of 1962). Linda was a devoted mother of six sons, Ledet Brown (Michele), Craig Brown (Deena) of Riverside, FL, twins Keith and Karl Brown, Ryan Brown of Tampa, FL and her bonus son, Nathan Eugene of Monroe, LA. She is survived by her beloved sister, Carolyn (Morris) Bowie of Wimauma, FL; grandchildren; Lechelle Simmons of Fayetteville, GA; Shannon (Larry) Stokes, Leneka Terry, Cortez Brown of Virginia Beach, VA, Joshua and Monshel Johnson. She is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren, a devoted friend Gregory Anthony, nephew, Juan Darby; cousin, Yvonne Norman, sister-in-law, Alma Eugene, and a host of family members, friends and relatives. Family, friends, and employees of Ochsner Hospital, Republic National Distribution Company of Gibsonton, FL, the Boulevard Bistro in Elmwood, the former Ear Nose and Throat, Humana and Lakeland Hospitals of New Orleans, LA are all invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, February 4, 2023, for 10:00 am at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel, 3933 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70125. Visitation begins at 9:00 am. Reverend Anthony Smith, Franklin Avenue Baptist Church is officiating.
