Mrs. Linda Silver Evans, 69, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina transitioned on February 19, 2023.
Linda Silver Evans was born April 13, 1953 in Halifax County, North Carolina to Nathaniel Wills, Sr., and Annie Lee Wills.
"La-Lou" as she was affectionately called, accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful servant within several ministries at Morning Star Baptist Church, which included President of the Senior Choir, a member of the Usher Board, and the Education Ministry until her health recently failed.
Linda attended Phillips High School, where she graduated and continued to be an active participant of the Phillips High School Alumni.
Linda was employed by Edgecombe County Public Schools where she worked in food nutrition for many years until her retirement. She also worked at Nash General Hospital in housekeeping. Linda was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys Football Team as well as UNC Chapel Hill Tarheels at every chance. You would often find her in some type of Cowboys gear, which was always a conversation started wherever she went.
Linda departed this life and entered into eternal rest on February 19, 2023. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Nathaniel and Annie Lee Wills, her husband Archie Evans, four sisters: Mabel Wills-Brown, Elnora Wills, Leah Frances Caudle, Edith Lee Wills, and two brothers: Nathaniel Wills, Jr., and Robert Hill.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her son Shon (Yolanda), one aunt Geraldine Edmonds, siblings Alice Mae Wills- Taylor, Donald Ray Hill (Sharon) and Susan Faye Hill, granddaughters Jasmine (Greg) and Yasmine, three great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A Visitation will be held for Mrs. Evans on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Battleboro, NC. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at First Baptist Church, 8612 Battleboro Leggett Road, Battleboro, North Carolina beginning at 1:00 pm. The Interment will immediately follow the service in the Morning Start Baptist Church Cemetery in Battleboro, North Carolina.
During the visitation, we are asking everyone who are in attendance to PLEASE wear a mask.
