Linda Susan Evans, of Georgetown, Delaware, beloved daughter of the late John and Charlotte Beissel, was born on March 16, 1949, at Misericordia Hospital (now PHMC Public Health Campus) in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She peacefully departed this life on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.
Linda's life was a symphony of service, artistry, and compassion. A gifted musician from an early age, she began teaching music at just 14 years old and continued to share her talents until October 2025. As the sole proprietor of Linda's School of Musical Arts in Georgetown, she nurtured generations of students, instilling not only technical skill but also a lifelong appreciation for the beauty of music. Her training by members of the Philadelphia Harmonic, with connections to the Palais Garnier in Paris-the famed setting of The Phantom of the Opera-gave her a foundation steeped in excellence. Linda's musical journey included playing alongside Todd Rundgren in his early Philadelphia days and enjoying the company of legendary performers such as Ike and Tina Turner during the vibrant Las Vegas music scene.
Beyond her musical career, Linda's professional path reflected her versatility and dedication to helping others. She served as a music teacher at Milford Music in Milford, Delaware, a nutrition specialist with Nutrisystem, a nurse at Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford, and a retail associate at Woolworth Department Store. Her scientific skills led her to work as a laboratory technician at both Sunrise Hospital and Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Each role she embraced was marked by her diligence, compassion, and commitment to excellence.
Linda's educational achievements included earning her RN Nursing Degree from Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown, a Laboratory Technician degree from Lankenau Hospital in Philadelphia, and graduating from Upper Darby High School. Her lifelong pursuit of knowledge reflected her belief in the power of education to transform lives.
Her devotion to community was equally profound. Linda served as a Girl Scout Leader for 33 years, guiding young women with wisdom and care, and was a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 17 years, where she built lasting friendships and contributed to service projects that enriched her community.
Linda leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 35 years, William Evans, and their beloved daughter, Ariel Evans, along with countless students, friends, and colleagues whose lives were touched by her kindness, artistry, and strength.
