Linda D. Gauvin, 71, of East Burke, passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2025 at her home.
Linda was born on December 17, 1953 to Albert and Gwendolyn (Fisher) Schmidt in Lancaster, NH. She spent her whole life in the Northeast Kingdom and spent her career working as a retail associate in various local businesses. She married Victor Gauvin on July 23, 1977, sharing nearly 39 years together before his passing on February 15, 2016.
While Linda was a person who often kept to herself, she will be remembered as someone who was always there for her family. She enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, and visiting all the local yard sales. While Linda enjoyed the area, she very much enjoyed making small trips like going to Maine last year with her close friend Emily. She lived a simple life centered around caring for her family and enjoying the simple things in life. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her children Michelle (Cameron) Roy, David Gauvin of East Burke, Matthew (Barb) Gauvin of Wheelock, and Amy Gauvin of East Burke; siblings Alan (Irene) Schmidt and Tracy (Terri) Schmidt; as well as her good friend Emily Calkins. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and her brother Terry Schmidt.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, 10am at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Lyndonville. There will be no calling hours.
