Linda Sue Breashears Goodman, age 79, of Athens, TN, went home to be with The Lord on August 24th, 2025 at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens.
She worked for 35 years as Administrative Secretary for the State of TN. She enjoyed knitting, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially watching her great-grandson, Aiden, grow up.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Cecil Breashears; sisters, Wanda White and Estelle Stinnett; several sister in laws; and her beloved dog, Jackson.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Bobby Goodman of Athens; son and daughter in law, David and Julie Goodman of Englewood; granddaughter, Chelsey Goodman of Athens; grandson, Cody Goodman of Nashville; great-grandson Aiden Russell of Niota; brother and sister in law, Fred and Glenda Coleman of Athens; along with several nieces and other loved ones and friends.
Linda's memory will always be cherished in our hearts. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to the McMinn County animal shelter in memory of Linda.
The Goodman family will receive friends at Companion Funeral home located at 400 S. White Street, Athens, TN 37303 on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. followed by a funeral service officiated by Craig Wilcox at 7 p.m. Burial will be the following day, Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery located at 5655 Zion Ridge Rd, Loudon, TN 37774.
