Linda was born on January 9, 1952 in Clinton, Missouri, the daughter of Walter and Lena Edith (Byers) Houk.
Linda graduated from Clinton Senior High School on May 28, 1970, graduated from Central Missouri State University on May 1975 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts/Interior Design. From 1977-1978 she worked as a Medical Assistant Wetzel Clinic in Clinton, Missouri, and from 1978-1981 worked as a Physical Therapy Tech at Sac Osage Hospital in Osceola, Missouri. She later graduated from the Warrensburg Area Vocational/Technical School in September 1982 as a Graduate Practical Nurse, and graduated from State Fair Community College on December 18, 1987 with an Associates Degree of Nursing. Linda worked as a GPN/LPN Charge Nurse at Westwood Nursing Home Clinton, Missouri from 1982-1993, and in 1993 was a LPN/Scrub Nurse at Bass Memorial Baptist Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma.
Later she went on to further her career as a OB Nurse at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri, an Instructor of Heath Occupations at the Clinton Vocational Technical School, an OB Nurse Traveling in the states of Kentucky, Texas, and New Mexico until she had to medically retire. Her passion was nursing and she was always proud to let anyone know who took care of her over the years she was one of them. She enjoyed sewing, cross word puzzles and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren
Survivors include her son/wife - Kyle & Teresa Hessenflow of Sedalia, Missouri, her granddaughter/husband - Heather & William Davidson of Sedalia Missouri, 3 great grandchildren - Brantley, Reagan, and Willow, her siblings; brother/wife Walter & Peggy Houk of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, brother/wife Richard & Bonnie Houk of Clinton, Missouri, sister Loretta Webb of Bates City, Missouri, brother/wife Phillip & Revae Houk of Evansville, Indiana, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents Walter & Edith Houk, her brother In-law Seryl Webb, and nephew Brian Houk.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.

I will remember Linda her bubbly spirit and friendly smile. She was a talented member of the CHS Class of 1970. My deepest condolences to her family.
