Linda Houskeeper sadly passed away on May 9, 2025. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister who was always there when we needed her, offering support, wisdom and love.
Linda was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and later married her teenage sweetheart Dave Mattes and divorced six years later. In 1984, she married the love of her life, John Houskeeper. She started her career at the Salt Lake Community College Skills Center as a Teacher's Assistant in 1976 where she later retired. She was very strong in her faith, loved scrapbooking, knitting and going to every scrapbooking event possible.
She was born on December 20, 1947, in Salt Lake City, UT to Lionel Covert and Bernice Hansen. She was preceded in death by her father Lionel Covert, mother Bernice Hansen and husband John Houskeeper. She is survived by her son David Mattes, grandson Cody Mattes (Jennifer), Granddaughter McKayla Twiggs (Garsen), and sisters Connie Kay, Karin Covert, and Melanie Hansen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 31, at 1:00 p.m. at the Fillmore City Cemetery, 325 East 600 South.
The family would like to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of support from Ovation Memory Care facility, Advanced Home Health and Hospice and countless others who have shown their love for Linda.
