Obituary For Shawn Alexander Smith

Shawn Alexander Smith passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 38. He was born to Dan A. Smith & Nancy Imhoff on September 29, 1987. He was born and lived most of his life in South Jordan, Utah.

He graduated in 2006 from Bingham High School and went on to attend Salt Lake Community college and Dixie State college in St. George, Utah

People who knew him well considered Shawn a beloved friend. Shawn enjoyed calm spaces, and spending time with friends.

A lifetime Christian, Shawn participated in local mission projects and international mission trips. Where he served as Gods hands and feet helping people to restore their homes and learn skills to master English as a second language. He had a heart for serving others.

Shawn enjoyed playing soccer from age 5 to 16. He was a Boy Scout and a member of the R.W. Moore chapter of DeMolay, Community of Grace Presbyterian Church youth groups and played percussion in Bingham High School bands.

He was a Utah Jazz fan and enjoyed watching University of Utah and the Buffalo Bills football games.

Shawn had a soft spot for cats, he enjoyed fishing and camping with family and friends and recreational shooting.

Shawn was predeceased by

grandparents Grace and Vincent Imhoff, Adele and Alex Smith and Henry Czjaka. Uncles Dewey Stout and Richard Burgess. Niece, Ann Smith.

He is survived by many loving family members and friends. Parents Dan A. Smith and Nancy Imhoff. Aunts Marilyn Burgess Essig, and Nancy Stout, and Cousin Christopher Stout.

Siblings Dean Smith, Denise Lorka, Darryl Smith, and their spouses. Along with 6 nieces and nephews.

Special friends David, Kelsi and Ryan Losee," Shawn's mini me". And friends too numerous to name.

Deep appreciate for the staff at University of Utah Hospital in caring for Shawn as well as Eric Hansen and staff at the University of Utah Daybreak Clinics.

A Memorial service to honor God and Shawn's life will be held Sunday December 14th at 2:00pm at Mountain Vista United Methodist Church. 8931 South 3200 West, West Jordan Ut 84088.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mountain Vista United Methodist Church to offset funeral expenses.
