Guntown—Linda Jo Moore Clifford, age 77, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 at the Booneville Hospital. She was born May 4, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Ruel and Evelyn Lee Moore. In 1983 she married Thomas Clifford and they enjoyed 27 years together before his passing in 2010. Linda Jo worked as a Mental Health Technician for the Anne Kiley Center in Waukegan, Illinois for many years until her retirement in 2001. She then moved to Northeast Mississippi to be near her daughters. Linda Jo was a faithful and dedicated member of the Mayfield Church of Christ. Her family smiles as they think about her love of the Green Bay Packers and her favorite player of all time, Bart Starr. Her beloved little dog Olive, was a constant companion.
Linda Jo leaves behind her children, Kimberly Ann Hitchcock and husband, Keith of Baldwyn, Rhonda Lee Bowles of Baldwyn, and John Michael Bowles and wife, Tammie, of Kenosha, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Crysta Leigh Burleson, John Derek Burleson and wife, Jessica, Stephanie Nicole Lindsey and husband, Brandon, Samuel Jared Burleson, Audrey Erin West and husband, Cody, Cassie Winters, and Samantha Winters; great-grandchildren, Hunter Reid Lindsey,, Aiden Lee Kennedy, Sophia Grace Lindsey, Eva Brooke Lindsey, John Wyatt Burleson, Rivers West, and Tucker Jax Hitchcock; her aunt, Mary Vance Simmons; and a host of loving cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruel and Evelyn Moore; her husband, Thomas P. Clifford; and a sister, Alice Faye Long.
Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Pegues, Saltillo. Services honoring Linda Jo’s memory will be at 3 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Mayfield Church of Christ with Ministers Chris Carter, Adam Miller, and Mark Stiles officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Aiden Kennedy, Derek Burleson, Jared Burleson, Brandon Lindsey, Keith Hitchcock, and Cody West. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hunter Lindsey, Wyatt Burleson, Rivers West, and Tucker Hitchcock.
