It is with heavy hearts that the Keaton family announces the passing of their beloved mother and grandmother, Linda Carolyn Keaton, who left us on January 31, 2025. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished Nonnie, and big sister, who was deeply adored by all who knew her.
Born on September 17, 1943 in Houston, TX, Linda lived a full and meaningful life. In 1961, she married Robert Keaton, and together they raised three daughters: Kimberly Bland, Stacie Dickens, and Paige Keaton. Throughout her life, she was known for her kindness, her dedication to family, and her steadfast faith. Linda was deeply committed to her loved ones and her church, and she brought joy to those around her through her love and generosity.
Linda was a talented piano and organ player, sharing her musical gifts with her church and loved ones. For many years, Linda served as the church secretary and organist at First Baptist Church Chappell Hill, where she demonstrated unwavering faith and dedication. She was an avid supporter of various charities, generously donating to causes close to her heart. She loved hosting parties and gatherings, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. A passionate cook, Linda delighted her family with delicious meals, bringing everyone together with her culinary skills. Her commitment to her family, faith, and community was truly remarkable and will always be remembered.
Linda Carolyn Keaton is survived by: her beloved husband, Robert Keaton; her daughters, Kimberly Bland, Stacie Dickens, and Paige Keaton; her grandchildren, Amanda Otto, Steven Williams, Jennifer Williams, Jordan McNeil, Keaton Holley, Madison Kadem, and Tanner Dickens; her great-grandchildren, Zoey Otto, Major McNeil, and Annistyn Otto; her brother, Bobby Penick, and her sister, Edna Shannon Pekar.
A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Chappell Hill on Tuesday, February 4th, at 2:00 PM. Following the ceremony, Linda will be laid to rest at the Masonic Cemetery in Chappell Hill. Afterward, the family invites friends and loved ones to return to the church for refreshments, food, and fellowship.
Pallbearers include Keaton Holley, Matt Otto, Aden Jaster, Marc Nesbitt, Hassan Kadem and Jeff Kamprath. Honorary pallbearers are Steven Williams, Robert M. Penick and Devin McNeil.
Linda Carolyn Keaton will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. We know there is a special place in heaven for our Nonnie. May she rest in peace.
