Linda M. Keeler, aged 70, of Johnstown, NY, passed away peacefully at Basset Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY, on Monday, December 23, 2024, with her loving family by her side.
Born on December 19, 1954, in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Valeria (Hlozansky) Mihalik.
A 1973 graduate of Johnstown High School, Linda's passion for creative arts led her to earn her associate's degree from the Atlanta Institute of Art in 1978. Her artistic talent was a gift she gave freely, imprinted within the weave of every quilt and the stitches of each knitted garment she crafted. A proud Catholic, Linda found solace within the communities of St. Anthony's and Holy Trinity Church. She was also a member of the Johnstown Moose Club. Linda loved family vacations and going to the ocean. Her two-year battle with cancer showcased her unparalleled strength and courage, traits that she exhibited throughout her entire life and continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Keeler III whom she married on September 7, 1985; sons, Lukas and Adam Keeler; sister, Dianne Spawn (Alan); niece, Jennifer Miller (Christopher), Rebecca Miller (Nate); great nieces and nephews, Brandon, Holly, Taylor, Cameron; as well as several other nieces, nephews, and cousins and her two dogs, Murphy and Chewie.
In addition to her parents, Linda is predeceased by her brother, John D. Mahalik.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Barter and Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher Street, Johnstown, NY 12095, with Deacon Solar officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
Interment will be held in the springtime at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Johnstown.
Memorial contributions in Linda's memory may be made to the Brennan Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd, Gloversville, NY 12078. (https://www.pawsforyou.org/) or St. Jude's, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105. (https://www.stjude.org/donate)
