Linda Kay Kuenning

Linda K. (Kerchal) Kuenning 81 of Ogallala, NE passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Ogallala Community Hospital. She was born May 18,1944 in Imperial, NE to Frank R and Bessie Rose (Antone) Kerchal. Linda attended Galena Country Grade School North of Wauneta and graduated from Wauneta High School in 1962. After graduation Linda got married and with her husband’s job, she lived in many states.

In 1976 Linda moved to Ogallala to be closer to her mother, Bessie, and sister, Leane. She was employed through the years at the VFW, Ramada Inn, and Holiday Inn as the Lounge Manager where she developed many lasting friendships. Later she went into business with her sister Leane, cleaning businesses and houses. Throughout the years she was known for the beautiful, crocheted dollies she made and gave to family and friends. Her other interests were continuing the tradition of making Kolaches, gardening, canning, and pickling everything harvested from the garden. Linda was a valued friend and loved visiting and going out with family and friends, she always kept you laughing.

She is survived by her sister, Leane Kerchal; and her sister- in- laws, Anne Kerchal, of Sterling; Reta Wind of Omaha, NE;  nephews and nieces, Dave (Kathy) Kerchal, of Wauneta; Rhonda (Bill) Bischoff, of Wauneta; Steve (Linda) Kerchal, of Culbertson; Shawna (Tim) Shelley, of Loveland; Stephen Kerchal, of Mississippi; great nephews and nieces, Justin (Rosey) Kerchal, of Gilbert, AZ; Jenae (Andrew) Ramirez, of Henderson, NV; Logan (Mallory) Bischoff, of Beaver, OK; Jesse (Jasmine) Kerchal, of Culbertson; Davon (Jamie) Kerchal, of Chandler, AZ; great- great- nephews, Kason Kerchal, of Chandler, AZ; Jett Kerchal, of Culbertson, and a host of family and friends.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Bessie; brothers, Eldon and Ron Kerchal; sister- in -law Elsie Kerchal; niece, Lynette Spence.

Memorial service will be on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Curt Magelky, of the United Methodist Church officiating.

Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta Nebraska.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Linda’s memory has been designated to Keith County EMS.
