Linda L. (Hotte) Lapenas, 81, of Gardner, died peacefully Friday, March 7, 2025, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, after a short illness.
Born in Brattleboro, Vermont, on December 23, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Charlotte (Ricket) Hotte. Linda was a home health aide employed by the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association of Gardner for many years until her retirement.
Linda was a congregant of the Mission of Grace Church of Gardner and Westborough. She was a friend of Bill W for over 50 years. Linda was devout in her faith and loved to preach God's word and do missionary work. She loved going to yard sales, listening to music, going out to eat, and, most importantly, taking time to decompress at the beach. But above all, Linda's greatest love and treasure was her family. She cherished every moment spent with them, and her love for them was boundless.
Linda is survived by her husband, Donald Lapenas; two daughters, Lisa Marion of Athol, and Vicky Hildreth of Fitchburg; two sons, Carlos Galvan and his wife Kerry of Ashby and Shaun Arsenault and his wife Robin of Spencer; eight grandchildren, Mason, Amber, Justin, Kara, Ryan, Troy, Ashlynn and Austin; sixteen great-grandchildren, her best friend, Nancy Rolf of Templeton; several nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Hannah Headley; and her two siblings, Yvonne Collette, and Bill Hotte.
Calling Hours will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Funeral Services will follow at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial at St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA, will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.
