Gustavus, Ohio - Linda Rae Lipps, age 81, died on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, after a battle with Alzheimers Disease. She was born on July 23, 1943, in Wayne, Ohio, the daughter of Mildred Lena (Noxon) and Marion Ralph Littler. A lifelong Gustavus resident, Linda graduated from the Andrews School for Girls in Willoughby, Ohio. Linda then began working Squires Saunders & Dempsey Law Firm in Cleveland, Ohio, and later attended Youngstown University for two years. On January 7, 1962, she married Henry Louis Lipps, they were married for sixty-two years before his passing last February 6, 2024.
Linda began her career in automotive accounting for several local dealerships; Birrells in Kinsman, Bill Hall Chevrolet of Andover, Fred Ragalis of Kinsman, and Bill Thompson Eastwood Chrysler of Niles. Her final position was the office manager for Stadium Lincoln and Mercury of Boardman, Ohio, retiring in 2005. She was a life member of the Gustavus Federated Church, a thirty year member of the former Kinsman Business and Professional Women Origazation, a longtime member of the Gustavus, Wayne, and Kinsman Historical Societies, the Gustavus U & I Literary Club, and Andrews School Alumni Association. Linda was a lifetime member and executive board member of the Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club and the Farm Bureau. She served on the Kinsman Free Public Library Board for many years. Her hobbies included genealogy, sewing, and quilting. Her love of music lead her to sing and play the organ and piano, in church, as well as many weddings and celebrations.
Linda is preceded in death by husband; her parents; her son, Calvin C. Lipps; grandson, Jeremy Ryan Brainard; her sister, Kay DeWeese; and her brother, Myron R. Littler. Survivors include her two children, Dorraiane K. (Bruce) Brainard of Gustavus, Ohio, and Bradley L. Lipps of Sharon, Pennsylvania; her sister, Gail L. Piper of Warsaw, Ohio; two grandchildren, Lindsay (Keshav), and Kyle (Heidi); and great grandson, Elliot.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 1:00PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Pastor Matthew Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery in Wayne, Ohio. Calling hours will be on Saturday, March 1st from 11:00AM until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gustavus Federated Church, PO Box 5, Farmdale, OH 44417, to the Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club, Williamsfield, OH, or Friends of Kinsman Library, PO Box 36, Kinsman, OH, 44428.
