Linda B. Love

Linda B. Love of Cozad passed away on April 5, 2025 at Meadowlark Pointe Assisted Living at the age of 84. Linda was born on March 4, 1941 in Fremont, Nebraska to Otto and Dorthea (Kielstrep) Tanke. She attended Fremont Public Schools, and worked at the Campbell’s Soup Company in Fremont.

Linda's journey truly began when she married Larry Love on October 2, 1960, in Julesburg, Colorado. Together, they moved to their farm in Cozad, where they built a life and raised their two children, Rick and Jody. Linda was deeply devoted to her family and created a warm, welcoming home supported by her dedication to gardening, canning, baking, and cooking for those she loved. Her home was always spotless, reflecting her meticulous nature.

Throughout her life, Linda was known for her generous spirit and eagerness to help anyone in need. She enjoyed attending events for her grandchildren, finding joy in each milestone and memory made with them. In her leisure time, she cherished various hobbies, including crafts, ceramics, crocheting, fishing, playing marble games, and card games. She even had a passion for gambling in Las Vegas, where she enjoyed the thrill of the game, often with a margarita in hand.

Linda loved her dog, K.C., who was her faithful companion, joining her on many car rides and adventures. She was also a proud member of the Cozad United Methodist Church and became part of the vibrant community at Meadowlark Pointe Assisted Living in 2022, where she made many friends and found a new sense of home.

Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion to family will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; 2 sisters, Virginia Fullerton and Janet Salak; and 5 brothers, Tommy, Jimmy, Keith, Kenny and Rollie Tanke. Survivors include her children, Rick (Anngie) Love of Cozad and Jody (Mike) Henry of Cozad; grandchildren, Erin (Zach) Horse of Cozad, Eric (Gretchen) Love of Gretna, NE, Ryan (Aaron) Henry of Cozad, Justin (Tylyn) Henry of Cozad, Jordan (Audrey) Henry of Gothenburg; great grandchildren, Liam, Reid and Coye Horse, Adley, Evan, and baby on the way Love, Emerson, Parker, Braxton and Adler Henry, Blakeleigh Henry; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Litzenberger officiating. Burial will follow at Cozad Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be Friday, April 11, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
