Linda P. Matthew, 79, of Downingtown, PA passed away October 8, 2025.
Born March 2, 1946, in Bryn Mawr, PA, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ramona (nee Sevold) Price.
Linda was the beloved wife of Richard L. Matthew and loving mother of Jeffrey and Peter Matthew (Jacquelyn); adoring grandmother of Andrew, Jake, Ryan and Talia and dear sister of Ted Price.
She attended Radnor High School graduating in 1964. In 1968, she graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA with Bachelor of Arts degree in both English and History. After college, she was employed at the Ardmore branch of the Philadelphia YMCA. Linda’s volunteer activity became a part time position at The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, PA. For the next years she held different positions as part of the school’s business and administrative staff, retiring in 2011.
Linda was a dedicated and loving mother managing a home and two children. She loved her pets, reading, knitting and sewing. She adored sailing the Chesapeake Bay. She has been a member of the Wayne Presbyterian Church since age 10. During her time there, she served as a member of the Family Ministry Committee and Choir Mother.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Wayne Presbyterian Church, 125 E. Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Team Foster, https://www.teamfoster.org/, would be appreciated.
