MAVIS, LINDA D. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda D. Mavis, who departed this life on July 29, 2025, at the age of 72, after a tough health battle.
Born on June 6, 1953, to overjoyed parents, Linda lived a full and vibrant life. She touched the hearts of everyone who knew her with her infectious smile and laugh.
Linda loved to travel, especially with her daughter, and took great joy in discovering new places together. Whether it was a spontaneous road trip or a planned adventure, she found happiness in the journey and time shared with others.. Linda always found peace and tranquility around water - whether it was boating with friends, sitting on the side of a pool or lying on a beach.
She had a competitive and playful side, which came alive during card games with family & friends - always full of fun, laughter, and a bit of friendly sassiness. Linda was always up for a good time - whether it was dinner out or enjoying a cold Blue Light at a Red Wings game - she cherished being surrounded by people she loved.
At home, Linda adored her dogs, especially her dog Charley, spending hours spoiling him, training him, and proudly showing off his latest tricks.
She spent over 50 years with Cusmano & Company, of Troy Michigan, beginning as a co-op student and building a memorable career marked by dedication, professionalism, and loyalty. Her colleagues became lifelong friends, many as extended family, and her commitment to her work was only matched by her warmth and laughter..
Linda will be remembered for her quick wit, big heart, and her unwavering loyalty. Her presence brought joy to those around her, and her memory will continue to bring smiles to those that knew her.
Linda is survived by her son Michael (Sandra), daughter Amber, and grandchildren Cody and Austin. She leaves behind her sister and brother-in-law, Barb and Ken Zalewski, nieces/godchildren Jessica and Katelyn with their families, and lifelong friend/sister Karen Hampton. Linda also shared a special bond with her honorary grandchildren: Mason, Lucas, Morgan, Ryan and Lexi.
Linda had no limit to the number of family, friends, cousins, and coworkers, that she enjoyed spending time with over the years, but she extremely missed those who predeceased her; her own wonderful parents, Bruce and Lorraine Melzer, father and mother-in-law, Norman and Grace Mavis, brother and sister-in-law, Skip and Terry Mavis, close friend, Paul Cusmano.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the good fortune to know her.
Memorial: The Gazebo Banquet Center, 31104 Mound Rd, Warren, MI 48092, on August 26th, 2025, 5:00-8:00 pm, Dinner at 6:00 pm. Please RSVP by contacting Amber Mavis 586-405-7424 or Barbara Zalewski 586-292-1537 by Saturday, August 23rd, 2025.
