Linda Ann Mellia Hiesel

Daughter, sister, wife, mother & friend peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 9 at VBH. Born on October 29, 1969 Bronx, NY. Linda was the second-born daughter of Dominick (residing at home) and Claire Hake Mellia. Her sparkling blue eyes, freckles, and long, beautiful hair made for an adorable little girl. Linda was lovingly predeceased by her mother, Claire, in 2018 & grandparents.
Linda is survived by her son, Dominick P. Hiesel, who brought a special light to her life when he was born. A bond that can not be broken by time nor space. Also survived by husband, Jay Hiesel, who stayed by her side throughout her transitioning phase of life. Sisters Jeanmarie & Diane, extended family, near and far.
BooBoo, Rob & Dorothy, your kindness and love shown to Linda meant the world to her & us. Every act of kindness was noticed and will remain cherished.
A graduate of Ketcham High School & Krissler Business Institute, Linda spent 36 years working for the Dutchess County Department of Health. A quick and efficient worker, someone who could master new tasks with ease. During her long career, she made many special connections with her colleagues and held those friendships dear to her heart. She will leave a lasting impression on those who knew her and her heart.
Linda's love for pets, especially cats, followed her throughout her life; her home was never without a furry companion. She is now reunited with Mitzi, Otis, Lyla & Joey. Her two newest kittens, Alex and Oliver, brought her comfort and lifted her spirits. A good nap, anything that sparkled, a closet full of clothes & shoes, flying pigs & a hot cup of coffee made her happiest.
