Linda Anne Miller

MOUNTAIN CITY - Linda Anne Miller, age 83, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Mountain City Care Center. She was born May 2, 1942 in College Park, GA to the late Roger Clifford Miller and Ruth Corrinne Elder Miller. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Ruth Miller.

Linda was a talented musician from an early age. She was the youngest member of Millers Unlimited, a group who produced an AM radio show. Linda also played the upright bass fiddle with the bluegrass gospel group, Turkey Tracks Trio. She retired from Appalachian State University.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Luci Cavanaugh (Mike); sons, Cliff Smithson (Wendy Lowenthal) and Mitch Smithson (Brenda); grandchildren, Jesse Knoke (Paige) and Jeremy Smithson; sister, Mary Emma "Jinx" Miller; and nieces, Debbie Kern and Cherie Smithson.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at First United Methodist Church with Reverend John Crabtree officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Johnson County Senior Center, 128 College Street
