Linda Miller Obituary
Linda Miller, age 81, of Ashland, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Villa Health Care Center in Sherman, Illinois.
She was born August 31, 1944, in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Vernon and Bina (Davis) Dowell.
Linda married Gail Miller in 1977. He preceded her in death in 2004.
Mourning her passing are her step-sons, Kevin (wife Sherry) Miller and Mason (wife Kathy) Miller; one brother, Reggie (wife Norma Jean) Dowell; special friend, Glenn Tuttle; and several nieces and nephews; and multiple neighbors and friends.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Ravonne “Ray” and Ronald “Ron” Dowell.
She graduated from Browns Business School.
Linda started her career at the University of Illinois Extension Service when she was 19 and retired from there in 2010 after 47 years of service.
She was a member of the Greenview United Church.
Linda enjoyed shopping, working in the yard, and visiting family, friends and neighbors.
She was an unbelievably “special” person to all who knew her. She had the patience and cheerfulness that made her the “special” person that she was. She will be truly missed by family, friends, and all who knew Linda.
Visitation for Linda will be held on Wednesday December 17, 2025 from 9:00 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Burial will be held immediately afterwards at Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview.
Memorial contributions to the Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis or the Greenview United Church.
