The Rev. Canon Linda Moeller, 75 of Ewing, NJ passed away on October 29,2025 following a relatively short battle with cancer. Linda was born September 15, 1950 to parents York and Liria Lee Breitung in Port Jefferson, NY.
While in high school Linda began her equestrian passion, which continued for the rest of her life. Following graduation she attended nursing school in New York, earning her R.N. Shortly after her parents moved to Florida, Linda relocated and began work as a nurse in Plantation. She worked as a critical care nurse and nursing supervisor, retiring from that career after 25 years of service.
While working as a nurse, Linda followed her interest in the spiritual dimension of life and attended the Southeast Florida Episcopal Diocesan school for deacons and was ordained as a Deacon in 1985. In preparation for her next phase, she earned a B.A. from Barry University in North Miami.
Sensing a call to the priesthood, Linda enrolled in General Theological Seminary in New York, graduating in 1995 with a Master of Divinity degree. She was ordained as a priest of the Episcopal Church in 1996. She served parishes in New York and New Jersey including St. Stephen and St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Florence, NJ up until the time of her retirement in 2022. During that time, she also served as the director of the New Jersey Diocesan School for Deacons, fostering in students a love for the liturgical dimensions of the Church. She was installed a Canon of the Diocese of New Jersey in 2012.
While in New Jersey Linda reactivated her love for horses, developing a skill for dressage riding, enjoying the camaraderie of riders and caring for the stable animals. Her horses, Teddy and Bosco, taught her much as she learned how to get them to respond to her riding. Her Blessing of the Animals services were much appreciated by her stable friends.
Linda is survived by her sister Liria Ruth Breitung, her husband Harold Moeller and his son Burke Moeller and grandchildren Riley Moeller and Coley Moeller.
In lieu of flowers, friends are urged to contribute in Linda's name to the Deacon Scholarship Fund of the New Jersey Diocese of the Episcopal Church, Mailing address: Box 7559, Ewing, NJ 08628.
Services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 801 West State Street, Trenton, NJ 08618
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 1584 Parkside Ave., Ewing, NJ 08638.
