Linda Merle (Wiley) Powell, born May 6, 1942, in Douglassville TX, passed from this life to the next on October 19, 2025, in Hooks TX. She was 83 years old.
She is preceded in death by parents Jessie Wiley and Katherine (Stewart) Wiley; sons Robert O Dooley and Ronald G Dooley; brothers Waylon Wiley, Joe Bailey Wiley, Sidney Ray Wiley, James Franklin Wiley, and William B. Wiley; and sister Mary (Wiley) Burleson.
She is survived by sons William J. Gage of Douglassville TX; daughter Deborah Lynn Hicks and husband Lenard "Joey" Hicks of Hooks TX; brother Donny Wiley of Douglassville TX; sisters Barbara Turner of Queen City TX, and Deana Pate of Douglassville TX; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and dear friends.
Linda is being cremated under the direction of Queen City Funeral Home in Queen City TX. An interment service in her honor will be held at a family cemetery in Douglassville TX on Sunday, October 26, 2025, beginning at 1:30pm.
