Janell Moore Dupree, known as "JJ", was born on February 6, 1942 to Johnnie Ross and Mamie Opal Moore. She graduated from Atlanta High School and set out to live her best life. She retired from Walmart where she worked in the pharmacy and vision center. Not content to sit all day and read, she then began working at Ginger's Taco, alongside her favorite (and only) sister, Faye Pittman. (That might have been the sole reason for taking the job!) She made many, many friends throughout her working years. Everyone who knew her loved her. She had a unique way of making everyone feel
important and valued.
JJ came from a long line of fierce competitors. She loved to play cards and dominos and games of all kinds – but she hated losing. If you ever came to Church on the Rock Saturday service, she was one of the first smiling faces you encountered. She loved the Lord and had a notebook full of names that she was praying for daily.
At the age of 82, she fell in love. Ron quickly became her best friend and life partner. Though they were only married for fourteen months and three and ½ days, Ron treated her like the queen she was. Her life with him was fun and exciting. She could not have found a better companion.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dick Virgil Moore and Benny Ross Moore.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ron Dupree of Atlanta, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Steve and Sherry Quinn; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Evalyne Jolly, bonus son, Kevin Dupree; five granddaughters, Kelli Rain of Allen, Texas, Misty McKnight of Atlanta, Texas, Kara Lannom of Texarkana, Texas, Heather Butler of Bloomburg, Texas and Miranda Jolly of, Hooks, Texas; brother, Steve Moore of Bivins, Texas; sister, Faye Pittman of Texarkana, Arkansas; 8 great grandchildren, countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
JJ loved and was loved. She didn't leave us, she just went home.
