(Mary) Ann Moore, age 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 21, 2025.
Ann was born on September 30, 1931 in Hazelton, Indiana to parents, Purvis and Georgia Briner. She is a graduate of Vincennes business college and married Mr. Jean Ralph Moore. The two relocated with their family to Ann Arbor, Michigan. Ann spent her life helping others in both big and small ways. Whether through a word of encouragement or a listening ear, she was always there for anyone in need. She was known as "mom" and "grandma" to many.
Ann worked at Eastern Michigan University in various roles over the years. Outside of work, she volunteered for the Red Cross and found joy in simple pleasures of a good game of bingo, where she built friendships and shared many laughs. Along with her best friend, Deanna Schuler, she enjoyed many casino trips.
She was also a proud and active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Ann also found comfort in her Methodist faith throughout her adulthood.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Jean Ralph; brothers, Eugene and George Andrew Briner, one sister, Norma Byrne (Patrick) and granddaughter, Carol Ann Moore.
She is survived by her children, Eugene R. Moore, Cheryl Ann Heulen, Mike Moore, and Kathryn (Grant) Sleet; grandchildren, Patricia (David) Boyer, Grant W. Sleet Jr, and Brian Joseph Sleet; great grandchildren, Navielle, Nelo, Brianna, and Christopher and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her dearly. Thank you to Check and Kathy Briner for your support and help during this time.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Bethlehem Cemetery of Ann
Arbor, Michigan.
Memorial contributions may be made to assist with funeral expenses. Checks can be written directly to Kathryn Sleet. Flowers are also welcome: https://www.niefuneralhomes.com/flowers
