Myrna Pancost Obituary

Myrna Elizabeth Pancost, 86, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025. She was born on May 6, 1939, to Carl and Helen Stoll.

Faith played a vital role in Myrna's life. A lifelong member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Ann Arbor, she was baptized, confirmed, and married there, and raised her children in the same church. Myrna was active in the Sunshine Circle, volunteered in the church office, and participated in countless community and school activities. She served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, was active in the PTO, and never missed a sporting or music event featuring one of her children or grandchildren.

Myrna was a true Ann Arborite! She loved U of M sports...she always had a house full of out-of-town tailgaters and attended U of M football games, U of M Men and Women's Basketball games and later enjoyed watching them on TV as well as the Tigers and Lions. She continued to follow Tom Brady and cheer him on to whatever team he was playing for.

Myrna worked at the University of Michigan until her retirement in 2001. Far from slowing down, retirement only expanded her adventures. She bowled, golfed, traveled, and played countless rounds of cards, bridge, euchre, and Mahjong with the friends she cherished. She always had a puzzle going and instilled puzzling in all her kids and grandkids. Whether cheering from the stands at a grandchild's sporting event or spending sunny days at Sugarloaf Lake, Myrna found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments. She was happiest when she was with family and friends.

Those who knew Myrna will remember her for living life fully and approaching each day with joy and gratitude. She was never quick to anger and always found a way to make those around her feel valued and loved. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Myrna will be remembered for her gentle spirit, easygoing nature, and the grace that defined her life.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Helen Stoll, and husband, Jim Pancost.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Belcher (Gary Bengtson), Sheri Belcher (Todd Tribble), and Stacy Belcher; her four beloved grandchildren, Bradley Deitzen (Maggie), Courtney Jordan (Erik), Tyler Tribble, and Gavin Tribble; and great grandkids that she cherished greatly, Easton Jordan and Russell Deitzen; her former husband, Louis Belcher; her brother, Richard Stoll (Kaye Stoll); and a cherished extended family of who will carry her love and light.
Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will live on through all who were lucky enough to know her.

Friends and family are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Nie Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.
