On Friday, August 15th, 2025, Linda Agars Powers quietly and peacefully slipped away into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long illness. She was surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Troy, NY on October 3, 1954, daughter of Jack and Lucy (Petersen) Agars. She graduated from Troy High School and Spencer's Business Institute. She went on to have a long and successful career as a court reporter for the NYS Workers Compensation Board, retiring in 2016.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Ed Powers, sons Calvin and Sam Powers, her sister Elayne Helin, a grandson Sam and granddaughter Alice. She was predeceased by her son Eddie Powers, and her sisters Jaqueline and Janice and brother Jackie.

Linda led a life of honesty, dignity and love of her family and Jesus. She was a humanitarian, giving to others less fortunate was important to her and Ed. She loved nature, her dogs, and everyone who knew her saw her radiant kindness and beauty. Her life took many turns and adventures and setbacks, but as a family we got through them all and in 2019 we moved to the quiet little peaceful village of Cambridge, NY and enjoyed the final years of our life together in complete serenity.

We would like to thank all the wonderful people who helped with her care recently, including the Community Hospice team members and our niece Alea Goyette.

Visiting will be from 2-4:00pm on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main St., Schaghticoke with a memorial service to follow in the funeral home at 4:00.
