Linda Rodney Obituary

Linda Kay Rodney, 75, of Danville, IN went to be with Jesus on October 22, 2024. She was born in Olney, IL on November 21, 1948 and was the daughter of the late Robert and Fannie Mae (Bunting) Inskeep. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Tom Inskeep.

Linda grew up in Albion, IL graduating from Edwards County High School with the class of 1966. After some college in FL and unsure of what to do next, the story goes that Aunt Pug prayed for Linda to find her way. That day, a lady attending Aunt Pug’s church, told her about the “next big thing,” computer technology. Linda enrolled in her first computer course and the rest is history. She worked in the computer industry for many years, and retired from IU Health. While Linda had a strong work ethic, Jennifer remembers her being home for dinner every night and never missing one of her sporting events.

Linda enjoyed sewing and needlework, puzzles, water aerobics, and baking her famous sourdough rolls. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, Micah and Emma, with whom she shared countless moments of joy from reading stories, to birthday parties, and summer beach trips.

Linda deeply loved Jesus and her church. Her strong faith carried her through both tough and joyful times. Linda’s loving generosity will also be remembered by her many friends and family.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Lawrence) Rodney Hsia of Arlington, VA; grandchildren, Micah and Emma; brother, Bob (Cheryl) Inskeep of Indianapolis, sister, Pamm (Andrew) Thimlar of Zionsville, and sister-in-law, Carol Inskeep of Webster, NY; Aunt Pug Johnston of Tampa, FL.

Sincere appreciation is extended from Linda’s family to the staff at The Restoracy of Whitestown and Anchor of Hope Hospice for their loving care of Linda this past year.

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the Danville Christian Church, 180 W. Main St., Danville, IN 46122.
