Mrs. Linda Marie Davis Ross was born on March 5, 1952 in Florence, South Carolina to Willie and Margaret Brown Davis. On Tuesday, January 31, 2017, Linda peacefully departed this life at McLeod Hospice House after an illness. "Big Linda" or "Rossy," as she was affectionately known, received her education from Wilson High School. Upon graduation, she furthered her education and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was formerly employed with the Heritage Home and First Presbyterian Home, both of Florence, South Carolina. Later, she gained employment with Florence School District One, where she worked for over 20 years until the decline of her health. Driving the school bus was her passion, and it provided her with the opportunity to bond with numerous children and parents. Linda was formerly a member on the Board of the Housing Authority in Florence, South Carolina. She also has previously campaigned with Congressman James "Jim" Clyburn. Linda was united with Mr. John W. Tedder for 42 years. This union was blessed with six children, one whom which was deceased at birth. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, four sisters and two brothers. Those left to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy include: three daughters: Linda Lynn Ross and Wendy (Janes) Johnson, both of Florence, SC; and Terri Tedder of Bradenton, FL; David McAllister, whom was reared in the home; thirteen grandchildren, four of which were reared in the home; nine great-grands; eight great-great grands; one daughter-in-law, Nichole Ross of Summerville, SC; four sisters, Deloris (William) Richardson and Billie Y. Kelly, both of Florence, SC; and JoAnn (Bobby) Richardson and Renae (Harry) James, both of Rochester, NY; two brothers, Leslie (Ann) Gregg of Florence, SC; and Wesley Gregg of Atlanta, GA; two brothers-in-law, Eugene (Juanita) Tedder of Dovesville, SC; and Henry (Betsy) Tedder of Darlington, SC; two sisters-in-law, Janet Davis of Woodstock, GA; and Willie Mae Hicks of Marion, SC; two special friends, Benny and Geneva Commander; special cousin, Mattie D. Hyman; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
