Linda Kay Rost passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 26th, 2025, at the age of 73.
Linda was born in Iowa on July 6th, 1951, to Alice and Vaughn Green. She worked as a respiratory therapist, eventually moving to Houston, Texas. It was there that she met and married Carl Rost. They welcomed their only child, Jon Vaughn Rost, in 1974. After moving to Mississippi, Linda worked as a respiratory therapist at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, Mississippi until her retirement. While she lived in many states including Wisconsin, Texas, and Florida, she resided in the greater Jackson, Mississippi area for the last 42 years.
Linda enjoyed collecting glassware and doing word puzzles. She loved watching mystery television programs and reading books by Agatha Christie. Linda was a caregiver at heart, she took pleasure in caring for her husband, son, and grandchildren over the years. She was a cat lover and cared for many feral, stray cats who found their way to her back yard.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Rost of Ridgeland, Mississippi, her parents Alice Green and Vaughn Green of Wisconsin, and her brother Wayne, also of Wisconsin.
She is survived by her son Jon Rost and his wife Stacey Aldridge; her granddaughter Alexa Rost and her partner Ben Davidson; her grandchild Jude Rost; and her siblings Sue, Gary, Donald, and Tom; as well as many nieces and nephews.
