Linda Sue Scheidegger

Linda Sue Scheidegger, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, in her hometown of Topeka, Kansas. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.

Linda was born on January 15, 1951. Linda's warmth and laughter filled the lives of all who knew her for 74 years. A graduate of Topeka West's Highschool class of 1970 and retired from Jostens Yearbook.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Florence Ritchey, son, Johnathan Abel, brother, Howard, and sisters, Norma and Sally.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, William, (married 35 years) with whom she shared a life full of laughter and mutual respect. Her children, Belinda (Damon) Ward, Travis (Jana) Abel, and William (Jacqui) Scheidegger, will carry forward her legacy of kindness and generosity. Linda's joy was multiplied by her grandchildren-Damon, Gentry, Emily, Russell, Natalee, Skyler, Jessica, Charles, Nikolas, Evan, Jack, and Ben-and her great-grandchildren, whose achievements and milestones she celebrated with pride.

Linda was a Catholic. She lived her faith through her actions, embodying the principles of love and charity. She was the heart of her family, offering guidance and support, and was often the source of laughter at family gatherings with her quick wit and humorous stories.

An undefeated champion of family Checkers, Linda found immense joy in teaching the game to her grandchildren, a testament to her playful spirit and love for simple pleasures. These cherished moments, filled with giggles and friendly competition, will remain as treasured memories for her family. Linda was known as Mrs. Milton Bradley to her family and the grandchildren were warned by her own kids not to play NANA in Checkers. Well they had to learn the hard way we guess.

Linda was known for her loving nature, her sense of humor, and her generosity, which extended beyond her family to touch the lives of all she encountered. Her presence was a gift, and her influence will continue to be felt by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

As we bid farewell to Linda, we celebrate her life and the endless love she gave so freely. Her story does not end with her passing but continues in the lives of those she loved. Linda Sue Scheidegger will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on, a comforting presence in the hearts of her family and friends. We all love you and until we meet again.
