Linda Gail (Crabtree) Schickel, 83, of New, Indiana, passed away on Sunday March 8, 2026. Born on May 19, 1942, to Marian and Mary Ann (Pease) Crabtree, Linda led a life characterized by dedication to her passions and a nurturing spirit.
Linda enjoyed a fulfilling career as a massage therapist and nutritionist, where she built lasting relationships with many long-time clients who appreciated her expertise and the care she brought to her work. Her commitment to health and wellness was complemented by her passion for vegetarianism, reflecting her deep appreciation for the natural world.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Linda had a green thumb and took pleasure in tending to her yard and flowers, finding joy in nurturing the beauty of her surroundings.
Linda is survived by her children, Samantha Durbin (Chris), Jeff Schickel (Margaret), and Chris Schickel (Kelly), as well as her beloved grandchildren, Tyler Schickel (Tegan), Seneca Taylor (Zach), and Michael Short.
Linda's wishes were to be cremated, and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) has been entrusted with her care.
