Linda A. (Holmes) Skillen, 73, died Monday, September 29, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Bill, her two loving daughters Jennifer Megna and her husband Damian of Grafton, and Jaime Gauthier and her husband Matthew of Whitinsville, her four beloved grandchildren Julia, Cameron, Kenny, and Vinny who she adored. Linda also leaves behind her three nieces Lorri, Tracy, and Karen. Linda was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Barbara Holmes.

Born in Worcester, on January 20, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Hilda (Ratcliffe) Holmes. She was raised in Northbridge and graduated from Northbridge High School Class of 1970. After graduating High School, Linda had several jobs, all of which provided her with the opportunity to be at home to raise her two daughters. Linda found her calling serving as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police for the Town of Northbridge for 30 years until her retirement in 2014. She was a member of the Massachusetts Police Association, and she was also a lifelong member of the United Presbyterian Church of Whitinsville.

Linda enjoyed traveling with Bill on their many adventures, including their trips to Turks and Caicos and Maine. But spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, was when she was at her happiest. Her grandchildren brought her endless joy and pride. Her face lit up whenever her grandchildren were near; they truly were the light of her life. Linda never missed an event for her children or her grandchildren. Above all, Linda cherished time spent with family, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.

Linda will be remembered for being an incredibly devoted and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She always put everyone else first and was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Her commitment to traditions created a strong bond across generations, leaving a lasting legacy of love, togetherness, and many, many photos.

Her family would like to thank the "Salmon Angels" at Salmon Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to both Linda and her family during this long difficult journey.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 4-7 PM at Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St., Whitinsville. A memorial funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the United Presbyterian Church on Cottage St., Whitinsville, at 11 AM. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Linda's memory to a cause that was dear to her heart, the Piece of Bread Community Kitchen, C/O the United Presbyterian Church, 7 Spring St. Whitinsville, MA 01588 or Salmon Hospice 37 Birch St. Milford, MA 01757, which provided her with incredible care and comfort.
