Linda Carol (Charles) Tennyson passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, with her loving husband of 32 years by her side. Linda was born on June 10, 1949, and was 76 years old. She met and married the love of her life, Leon (Butch) Tennyson on May 24, 1993. They began their journey of life in Sapulpa, lived in Vinita for a few months while their home was being built in rural Bluejacket, Oklahoma.
Linda attended NEO A&M in Miami. She worked for Citgo in Tulsa, Oklahoma for several years. She finished her working career and retired as Director of Human Resources at AMI in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Linda was an avid sports fan. She especially loved watching OU softball, football, basketball, gymnastics, volleyball and many other sports. Linda loved to fish, which she did often at their family pond. She looked forward to the Sunday family dinners or any get-together that included family. Linda loved to cook for her husband and anyone else that happened near their home.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Roxie Juanita (Turner) Charles, Douglas E. Charles; brothers, Leroy Charles, Tommy W. Charles; sister, Sharon K. Layman; sisters-in-law, Mary Sue Charles, Roberta Charles, and brother-in-law, Joe Langley.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leon (Butch) Tennyson; one special son, Jason Tennyson (Destiny) of Venus, Texas; one daughter, Erica Tennyson; three grandsons, Tyler Tennyson (Bryan Corser) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Robbie Tennyson (Joy) of Dahlonega, Georgia, Jordan Tennyson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Ashton Barrera (Gerardo) of Maypearl, Texas, Peyton Willey, Venus, Texas; great grandsons, Stetson Tennyson, Caiden Barrera, Grayson Downs; and great granddaughter, Leilani Barrera. She is also survived by siblings, James L. Charles, Cora Sue Hults (Ed), Carl L. Charles (Susan), Betty G. Langley; sisters-in-law, Ginger Tennyson, Phyllis Sharpton, Vickie Martin (Ray), Myrna Loveless, and Sigrid Charles, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita, from 5-7 p.m.
The celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel with Pastor Wes Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Haskell Cemetery in Haskell, Oklahoma. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. "Vinita's only locally family owned and operated funeral home."

Butch, I´m so sorry for your loss. I know what you are going through and it will be hard for probably a year. But you had 32 wonderful years together, the same as Ben and I did. You will get through this I promise you. If there is anything you need or I can do please let me know. May god bless you.
