Linda Urbantke Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck Funeral Home in Austin/Round Rock on Oct. 26, 2025.
Linda Jean (Duke) Urbantke of Round Rock passed away peacefully at Christopher House in Austin on October 22, 2025 at age 77. She was born in Balboa, Panama on February 11, 1948 at Ft. Clayton Army Hospital to Air Force Major Felix Lamar Duke and Mrs. Velma Ray Duke.
Linda spent her childhood moving wherever the Air Force took her dad, including Florida, Texas and Germany, where she attended Frankfurt American HS and enjoyed some of the best days of her life. At 17, she returned to Texas where she graduated from Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi in 1966.
Linda spent most of her career in the auto industry, working for 23 years at Henna Chevrolet. In her free time, she enjoyed horseback riding. She made great memories riding in the Salt Grass Trail Ride with her best friend Sharon. She also enjoyed crafting, sewing and cooking for family and friends. She and her husband Ardeen loved barbecuing, and she always cooked alongside him, making Texas' best potato salad. She had both a sweet and "spicy" side-she was thoughtful and generous, but also had a dry, quick wit, which she never lost even after slowing down. She loved dogs and had an appreciation for music of all kinds, which she passed on to her kids and grandkids. She was tough and stubborn, which helped her persevere through years of health challenges, but she said what really kept her going was watching her grandchildren grow up.
Linda's greatest joy in life was simply spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Patrick Guidry, Robin (Guidry) Allen, Slade Urbantke and Sydney (Urbantke) Hinson; grandchildren, Bridgette (Guidry) Rivas, Novalea Pauley, Andrew Allen V, Elijah Allen and Claire Allen; and great-grandchildren Sebastian Rivas and Adrian Rivas.
She is preceded in death by her parents Major Felix Lamar Duke and Velma Ray Duke; siblings Lt. Col. Paul Duke and Donna (Duke) Kiening and her husband of 35 years, Ardeen Urbantke.
A memorial will be held Saturday, November 1st at Beck Funeral Home at 15709 RR 620 in Austin. Visitation will be at 9:00am and services at 9:45am.
