Linda Ward, of Lexington Park, Maryland, passed away on November 25, 2025 at her home. She was born on May 11, 1974, in Houston, Texas, and from the very start, she lived life with a big heart, a curious mind, and a fearless spirit.
Linda had a deep love for animals - especially dolphins and her Boston Terriers - who brought her endless joy. Those lucky enough to know her could always see the way her face lit up around animals. She leaves behind her cherished dogs and now joins the many beloved pets who crossed the Rainbow Bridge before her, surely greeting her with wagging tails.
Linda was never afraid to reinvent herself. She faced life's challenges with incredible strength and determination, always finding a way to rise above and move forward. Her adventures took her everywhere - from scuba diving with sharks to cruising the open road in her motorhome, or feeling the wind in her hair with the top down on her Jeep. She lived life boldly and beautifully, savoring every moment along the way. Her sense of humor never failed to bring smiles to others.
One of her greatest joys was serving alongside her husband, Randy, in the Star Wars Costuming Community, where together they brought smiles and inspiration to others through charity and community events.
Linda was a proud graduate of Lancaster High School. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master of Business Administration from Columbia Southern University - an achievement that reflected her drive and passion for learning. After earning her degrees, she began a career in civil service as a finance analyst for United States Naval Aviation programs, where she worked with dedication and pride until her retirement in 2024.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Randy Ward; her father, James Bailey, and stepmother, Jackie; her mother, Nikki; her brothers David Bailey and Jimmy Bailey; her sisters, Tammy Whitford and Joanna Parnell; her nephew, Brandon Whitford; her niece, Megan Ezzell; and four great-nieces and nephews - all of whom she loved dearly.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held at Colfax United Methodist Church in Colfax, Texas, officiated by her nephew, Brandon Whitford. Service details will be updated within the week. In keeping with her love of color and joy, the family welcomes gerbera daisies and yellow roses, her favorite flowers, to honor her memory.
Linda's warmth, laughter, and adventurous spirit touched so many lives. She will be deeply missed, but her light will continue to shine in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.
