On the morning of Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Linda Faye Washington, age 76, of Marion, passed away at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Lakeland, Florida, Linda was born on September 17, 1949 to the late Alton Eugene Washington and Mary Louise Pearce Washington.
A proud veteran, Linda served for twenty years in the United States Army, where she achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. Her commendable service included being airborne and earned her a number of military decorations, recognizing her great commitment to her country. She was later employed with the Henderson County Department of Social Services in the child protective services department. Her career was marked by her heartfelt advocacy for children.
Outside of her professional life, Linda found joy in the simple pleasures of nature. A lover of animals of all kinds, she reveled in outdoor activities such as camping and riding motorcycles. She brought warmth and kindness to everyone around her, always ready to help anyone in need.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Teresa Moore, Donnie Washington, Sharon Lash, and Alton Washington, and one niece, Latricia Collver.
She is survived by her wife, Carol Ann Washington; two step-sons, James Williams (Kathey) and Ronald Collver (Kathy); two grandchildren, Zachary Collver and Zoey Collver; her nephews and niece, John Wayne Stilwell (Dana), John Allen Clark (Melissa), Nathan Clark (Melanie), Chris Bratcher (Nicole), and Kelly Carson; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special uncle, James Dellon Jacobs (Diane).
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Lakeland, Florida.
