Linda J. Wickland
January 26, 1948 – December 1, 2025
It is with heavy hearts we have said goodbye to our mother Linda J. Wickland. Linda passed away quietly December 1, 2025, in Mesa AZ as she sat in her favorite recliner. Linda was born into this world on Jan 26, 1948, to Gordon L. and E. Marie Wickland in
Greeley, CO. She enjoyed a wonderfully blessed childhood and magical teen years, all shared with family and friends. She always spoke of how much she loved the holidays, especially Christmas time with all the extended family coming together and her love of all her many, many friends from elementary school all the way through her elder years. Linda had the gift of being a social butterfly. Her greatest joy in life was being with her friends, always ready for a party, big or small or a getaway trip near or far.
Linda attended all her early school years in
Greeley, CO, graduating from Greeley Central High School in 1966, then going on to her freshman year of college at CSU in Fort Collins. Linda married Jay Turner in the fall of 1967 and welcomed the birth of their daughter Tracey in June of 1968; their union however was dissolved shortly thereafter. Linda reconnected with Randy Bergum, and they were then married in early 1974, welcoming their daughter Abby in September of that year. Linda and Randy shared a decade of life together with the girls and many pets in Greeley until the dissolution of their marriage in the early 1980s. Linda went on to marry again for a short time to Mike Kyne in the early 1990s.
Linda was very intelligent, beautiful and witty, blessed with the gift of gab, that served her well in her career paths of both nursing and real estate. Linda received her LPN in her early 20s using that degree for several decades to have a career working in hospitals and clinics throughout CO and AZ. Linda received her real estate license in the early 1980s, having a successful career helping buyers and sellers with homes throughout the 80s into the mid-2000s. She enjoyed both of her careers immensely although slightly favoring real estate as she loved the social aspect and being able to view all the beautiful homes being bought and sold. Even to her last day she was always looking at homes on the MLS and viewing all the Zillow listings in the East Valley of AZ.
Linda had a very full life filled with all the highs and lows, joys and sorrows that one could have. She is preceded in death by her amazing parents G. L. and E. Marie Wickland. She is survived by her 2 wonderful daughters; Tracey Bergum and Abby Bergum, 3 fabulous grandchildren; Taylor Marie, Trenton and Alex, her older brother James Wickland, one auntie still with us at 107 years young, Aunt Dot, and lots of cousins throughout CO, CA, WY and NE. She will be missed so very much by her close circle of friends. Linda also had a wonderful group of neighbors in her beloved Arizona townhouse community.
Linda loved animals and had dozens of pets throughout her long life...dogs, cats, and horses, most of which she had cremated and placed in beautiful urns so they could always be with her. Per her final wish, she too was cremated and will now be with her animals. She asked that instead of having a final service or memorial, that anyone wanting to remember her to please make a donation in her name to your favorite animal shelter or local animal rescue service, and if you ever are to hear the song What a Wonderful World performed by Louis Armstrong to please take a moment and remember her.
