Linda Kirkland Willis, age 81, of Iron City, GA, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at her daughter's residence.
Funeral services for Mrs. Willis will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Donalsonville Church of God with Rev. Phillip Kirkland and Dr. Johnny Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Robert Thompson, Rob Blackburn, William Youmans, Jerry Stokes, Jamie Kirkland, and Dennis O' Hearn serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, February 9, 2024, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Donalsonville Church of God. The family will be receiving friends at the home of Gail and Jason Stephens.
Mrs. Willis was born in Donalsonville, GA on January 2, 1943, to Collie Edward and Merle Adams Kirkland. She was a 1961 graduate of Seminole County High School where she was a member of the basketball team. Mrs. Willis completed two years of college and worked as the lunchroom manager at Seminole County Middle School until 1989 and then served as the food service manager at Bainbridge PSATC until her retirement. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 58 years, Harrell Willis of Iron City, GA; her daughters, Kim Johnson and her husband Don of Iron City, GA and Gail Stephens and her husband Jason of Iron City, GA; her grandchildren, James Thompson, Robert Thompson and his wife Debbie, Thomas Thompson, Hunter Johnson and his wife Kaitlyn, and Weslyan Johnson; as well as her great grandchildren, Eleanor J. Thompson, Collin R. Johnson, Audreana Burnham, Cody Taylor, and Kennedy Taylor.
Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her parents, Collie Edward Kirkland and Merle Adams Kirkland Richardson, as well as her brother, Collie Edward Kirkland, Jr.
