Marie Mae Willis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marie Willis "Mae", our beloved mother and friend, who passed away on March 19, 2026, at the age of 85.

A celebration of Mae's life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 23rd at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, officiated by Demetrius Collins. Family and friends are invited to stay for a reception immediately following the service. Mae will be laid to rest privately at Oceanview Cemetery in Beaufort.

Mae was born in Madawaska, Maine. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Anna Dufour; husband, Thomas Lee Willis; 5 brothers and sisters; 1 granddaughter; and 1 great-grandson.

Mae is survived by her 2 sisters, Anita Hardy, Linda Dufour; her brother, Maynard Dufour; daughters, Anna French (George), Bobbie Brewster (Carl), and Angie Snedeker; her son, Thomas Lee Willis Jr.; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Mae's presence touched the lives of all who knew her, bringing joy, kindness, and wisdom to every moment. We will cherish the memories shared and hold them close in our hearts forever.

Her legacy remains in the love and compassion she showed to others, and in the countless lives she enriched. As we mourn, we also celebrate the remarkable impact Mae made in this world.
