Linda Winn, nee Hultin, age 79, of Belleville, formerly of Winchester, Tenn., born January 11, 1943 in Kingsport, Tenn., the daughter of the late Carl and Sadie Hultin, passed away November 24, 2022 in Belleville, Ill., at the home of her daughter, Wendy.
Growing up in Tennessee, Linda knew from an early age she loved to read and write. Years later, after a B.S. from Tennessee Tech, an M.A.T. from Winthrop University in South Carolina, plus 15 post-master's hours, and a Professional Rating from the Professional Tennis Registry, Linda became a tennis analyst and writer for a professional tennis journal and other tennis magazines. From there, God placed a series of people in her path life to lead her from serving on the tennis court to service in The King's court. Since then, her faith-based articles have appeared in HomeLife Magazine, Guideposts' The Best Angel Stories, The Intercessor, and her blog, Light's On. Her first book, Happy Tails, was published by Thomas Nelson in 2008. Her latest book, The Road to Glory; Walking Mama Home, is a wonderful compilation of advice and lessons learned while caring for her mother.
Linda was also a professional photographer, teacher and coach. Her greatest joys outside of the Lord were her dogs, gardening and playing golf with her Bear Trace buddies. She loved her community, constantly raising money for families and animals in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl Winn who died on October 16, 2014; her sisters Ann Hultin Kiesau and Susan Hultin.
Surviving are her daughter Wendy Smith; grandchildren Sam, Alex, and Kathryn; her beloved Rusty, nieces Jennifer Roberts and her family, Melony Star Kiesau and her family; and many close friends, neighbors, golf buddies and her church family.
