Linda Marie Yeck passed away on April 26, 2025 at The University of Minnesota Medical Center after a thirteen-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia. She was 77 years old.
Linda Betz was born in Muskegon Michigan on September 4, 1947. She graduated in 1965 from Orchard View High school. She and her husband Doug Yeck, of Mt. Clemons Michigan, were married June 5, 1971 and became ordained ministers in The Salvation Army in 1980. As Salvation Army officers they were appointed to locations in Indiana, Michigan, Singapore, and Minnesota. Linda and Doug spent four years in Singapore from 1986-1990 and adopted their daughter Elizabeth (Betzie) during their time there. Linda and Doug retired from active ministry in 2012 and settled in Maplewood Minnesota. She continued in ministry in various settings at The Salvation Army Lakewood Corps in Maplewood until her death. During her life, she was a loyal band and songster member and piano player. Over the years of her service and ministry in The Salvation Army she had a passion for working with youth and women's ministries and she served and loved all those under her care. Linda was first and foremost a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her family.
Linda is survived by her husband Doug Yeck, daughter Betzie Parker (Chris), grandchildren Aaliyah Parker, Sarah Parker, Isaac Parker, Zechariah Parker, Gabrielle Parker, and David Parker all of Maplewood Minnesota, Brothers Daniel Betz (Joyce) of Muskegon Michigan, David Betz of Kalamazoo Michigan, and sister Mary Duskin (Paul) of Hutchinson Kansas.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents RC Betz, Helen Betz Hilliard, stepfather Henry Hilliard, and brother Ron Betz.
The memorial service for Linda will be on Friday, June 27th at 4:00 with a meal afterwards.
